Maintenance Of Filing Cabinet Structure And Components

Leave a message

The structural stability of a filing cabinet directly affects safety during use. The following areas should be inspected regularly:

1. Rail System: For filing cabinets with drawers, keep the rails clean. Lubricate them periodically with graphite powder; avoid oil-based lubricants, as they attract dust.

2. Locking System: Lubricate the lock cylinder regularly with specialized graphite powder to ensure smooth key insertion and removal. If the lock is difficult to operate, do not force it; instead, have a professional inspect and repair it.

3. Hinges: Check the tightness of cabinet door hinges annually and tighten any loose screws promptly.

4. Handles and Pulls: Check that they are securely attached and tighten them immediately if any looseness is detected.

Pay special attention not to exceed the filing cabinet's rated load capacity. Overloading can cause shelf deformation and damage to the rails. When adjusting shelf height, follow the instructions in the manual and ensure the shelf clips are fully seated in the slots.
